Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

TCSC control design for transient stability improvement of a multi-machine power system using trajectory sensitivity

open access: yes, 2007
This paper discusses the effects of thyristor controlled series compensator (TCSC), a series FACTS controller, on the transient stability of a power system.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

The Prodigious Potential of mRNA Electrotransfer as a Substitute to Conventional DNA-Based Transient Transfection

open access: yesCells, 2023
Transient transfection of foreign DNA is the most widely used laboratory technique to study gene function and product. However, the transfection efficiency depends on many parameters, including DNA quantity and quality, transfection methods and target ...

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Transient Voltage Unit Protection Based on Fault Information Fusion

open access: yesIEEE Access
Transient protection has the advantage of ultra-fast operation. However, traditional transient protection is susceptible to the influences of transitional resistance and the initial fault angle, resulting in issues with sensitivity and reliability under ...

METHOD OF SIMULTANEOUS OPTIMIZATION OF RADIO DEVICES PERFORMANCE IN FREQUENCY AND TIME DOMAINS

open access: yesРоссийский технологический журнал, 2018
A new method of searching for optimal transfer functions of radio circuits and devices was developed. This method allows optimizing performance in the frequency and time domain simultaneously. These tasks cannot be solved by analytical methods.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.
