Excitation control of variable speed pumped storage unit for electromechanical transient modeling

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2022
In this paper, a new excitation control of variable speed pumped storage unit (VSPS) for electromechanical transient modeling is presented. Compared with the traditional VSPS excitation control based on current source, the inner loop control of rotor ...

Simulation Study on Dynamic Characteristics of Hydraulic Unit Support of Cyclic Self-Moving Combination Support

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The top beam of a hydraulic support, serving as the central component of the hydraulic support assembly, directly withstands the impact loads generated by the subsidence of overlying rock strata.

Impedance-Based Interactions in Grid-Tied Three-Phase Inverters in Renewable Energy Applications

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
Impedance-ratio-based interaction analyses in terms of stability and performance of DC-DC converters is well established. Similar methods are applied to grid-connected three-phase converters as well, but the multivariable nature of the converters and the

Transient Dynamics of Genetic Regulatory Networks [PDF]

open access: yesBiophysical Journal, 2007
We present an approximation scheme for deriving reaction rate equations of genetic regulatory networks. This scheme predicts the timescales of transient dynamics of such networks more accurately than does standard quasi-steady state analysis by introducing prefactors to the ODEs that govern the dynamics of the protein concentrations.

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Resistance transient dynamics in switchable perovskite memristors

open access: yesAPL Machine Learning, 2023
Memristor devices have been investigated for their properties of resistive modulation that can be used in data storage and brain-like computation elements as artificial synapses and neurons. Memristors are characterized by an onset of high current values

Coupling analysis of transient cardiovascular dynamics [PDF]

open access: yesbmte, 2013
Abstract The analysis of effects from coupling in and between systems is important in data-driven investigations as practiced in many scientific fields. It allows deeper insights into the mechanisms of interaction emerging among individual smaller systems when forming complex systems as in the human circulatory system.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Finite-time Lyapunov exponents and metabolic control coefficients for threshold detection of stimulus–response curves

open access: yesJournal of Biological Dynamics, 2016
In biochemical networks transient dynamics plays a fundamental role, since the activation of signalling pathways is determined by thresholds encountered during the transition from an initial state (e.g. an initial concentration of a certain protein) to a
