TYPOLOGY OF TRANSIT-ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT

open access: yesBulletin of Belgorod State Technological University named after. V. G. Shukhov, 2019
Transit-oriented development (TOD) is a strategy of urban planning that aims to maximize the efficient use of the territory near the transport hub and facilitate the transition to sustainable development of cities and regions. The research is aimed at studying the emergence and development of TOD as part of New Urbanism concept in the history of urban ...

Low‐Cost, Large‐Scale Nanoporous Metals by Mechanical Alloying, Oxide Reduction, and Dealloying of Powders

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Powder metal processing provides scalable advantages in nanoporous (np) metal development. Mechanical alloying is used to produce unique precursors for hybrid nanopore formation by oxide reduction and dealloying. As demonstrated in np Ag, this approach improves process efficiency while promoting smaller ligaments and larger pores, both of which are ...

Impact of bus rapid transit in shaping transit-oriented development: evidence from Lahore, Pakistan

open access: yesJournal of Asian Architecture and Building Engineering, 2023
Transit-oriented Development (TOD) reduces traffic congestion and encourages high dense, mixed-use, and walkable environments. Whether Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) shaped TOD or not has not been well examined, though rail transit has been widely studied ...

Planar Solid‐State Nanopores Toward Scalable Nanofluidic Integration Based on CMOS Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present a scalable silicon‐based fabrication strategy for planar solid‐state nanopores to enable their integration with complex nanofluidic systems. Prototype devices demonstrate normal voltage‐current characteristics, good noise performance, and appreciable streaming currents. Our CMOS‐compatible fabrication process offers precise geometric control

Investigating the link between transit oriented development and sustainable travel behavior in Brisbane: A case-control study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The purpose of this research is to empirically test the prevailing view that transit oriented development enhances the use of more sustainable modes of transport using Brisbane, Australia as a case.

Do dissonants in transit oriented development adjust commuting travel behaviour?

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Transport and Infrastructure Research, 2015
Residential dissonance signifies a mismatch between an individual’s preferred and actual proximal land use patterns in residential neighbourhoods, whereas residential consonance signifies agreement between actual and preferred proximal land uses ...

On the Lightweight Potential of Laser Additive Manufactured NiTi Triply Periodic Minimal Sheet Lattices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores the lightweight potential of laser additive‐manufactured NiTi triply periodic minimal surface sheet lattices. It systematically investigates the effects of relative density and unit cell size on surface quality, deformation recovery, compression behavior, and energy absorption.

A Numerical–Experimental Approach for Multi‐Matrix Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Characterization Using Finite Element Model Updating

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.
