Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

The Transition to a Low Carbon Economy: The Dynamics of Environmental Stakeholder Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The transition to a low carbon economy demands new strategies for maintaining competitiveness and benefiting from ‘green growth’. A network of stakeholders offers opportunities for, as well as constraints to, organisational growth and successful low ...

Chiral transition in a strongly coupled fermion-gauge-scalar model

open access: yes, 1994
We report the recent results from the computer simulations of a fermion-gauge-scalar model with dynamical chiral-symmetry breaking and chiral transition induced by the scalar field. This model might be considered to be a possible alternative to the Higgs

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Evaluation method and module design for cost-effective compliance with irradiance guidelines to maintain soil quality in solar parks

open access: yesEPJ Photovoltaics
Ground mounted solar parks lead to changes in the micro-climate under and between the PV tables. In particular, the vegetation on the soil is, in various degrees, shaded from direct sunlight and indirect, diffuse light. Also, the changes in precipitation

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Points de vue - La stratégie française pour relever le défi de la mise en œuvre des outils de la directive cadre européenne sur l’eau [PDF]

open access: yesSciences, Eaux & Territoires, 2021
La directive cadre européenne sur l’eau (DCE) a donné une impulsion forte à la politique française menée en matière de bio-indication. Le bon état écologique des masses d’eau est devenu l’un des indicateurs majeurs de pilotage et d’évaluation de la ...
