Probabilistic approach of state transition elements of truss structures at corrosion [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
The purpose of the presented study is to determine and mathematically model the reliability of a steel truss with different variants of local failures of rod elements due to corrosion processes.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Signatures of electron correlations in the transport properties of quantum dots

open access: yes, 1995
The transition matrix elements between the correlated $N$ and $N\!+\!1$ electron states of a quantum dot are calculated by numerical diagonalization. They are the central ingredient for the linear and non--linear transport properties which we compute ...

By dawn or dusk—how circadian timing rewrites bacterial infection outcomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The circadian clock shapes immune function, yet its influence on infection outcomes is only beginning to be understood. This review highlights how circadian timing alters host responses to the bacterial pathogens Salmonella enterica, Listeria monocytogenes, and Streptococcus pneumoniae revealing that the effectiveness of immune defense depends not only

Preparation and Characterization of Schiff Base Ligand (E)-2-(2-Oxoindolin-3-Ylidene) Hydrazine-1- Carbothioamide and its MetalComplexes with Study of Their Impact on the Division of Lymphocyte Cellsof Humans

open access: yesAcademic Science Journal
This research involved the synthesis of the ligand (E)-2-(2-oxoindolin-3-ylidene) hydrazinecarbothioamide (LM) from the reaction of indoline 2, 3-dione with thiosemicarbazide and characterization using 1HNMR, Uv-Vis, FT-IR, spectroscopy in addition to ...

Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...

Ab initio calculations of the physical properties of transition metal carbides and nitrides and possible routes to high-Tc

open access: yes, 2006
Ab initio linear-response calculations are reported of the phonon spectra and the electron-phonon interaction for several transition metal carbides and nitrides in a NaCl-type structure.

Interplay between circadian and other transcription factors—Implications for cycling transcriptome reprogramming

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...
