The role of surface chemical reactivity in the stability of electronic nanodevices based on two-dimensional materials "beyond graphene" and topological insulators [PDF]
Here, we examine the influence of surface chemical reactivity toward ambient gases on the performance of nanodevices based on two-dimensional materials "beyond graphene" and novel topological phases of matter.

Defects in CrAs and related compounds: a route to half-metallic ferrimagnetism [PDF]
Half-metallic ferrimagnetism is crucial for spintronic applications with respect to ferromagnets due to the lower stray fields created by these materials.

Quasiparticle electronic band structure of the alkali metal chalcogenides [PDF]
The electronic energy band spectra of the alkali metal chalcogenides M$_2$A (M: Li, Na, K, Rb; A: O, S, Se, Te) have been evaluated within the projector augmented waves (PAW) approach by means of the ABINIT code. The Kohn-Sham single-particle states have

Strong electron correlations in the normal state of FeSe0.42Te0.58 [PDF]
We investigate the normal state of the '11' iron-based superconductor FeSe0.42Te0.58 by angle resolved photoemission. Our data reveal a highly renormalized quasiparticle dispersion characteristic of a strongly correlated metal.

Magnetic interactions in iron superconductors: A review [PDF]
High temperature superconductivity in iron pnictides and chalcogenides emerges when a magnetic phase is suppressed. The multi-orbital character and the strength of correlations underlie this complex phenomenology, involving magnetic softness and ...

Exfoliation of large-area transition metal chalcogenide single layers [PDF]
Isolating large-areas of atomically thin transition metal chalcogenide crystals is an important but challenging task. The mechanical exfoliation technique can provide single layers of the highest structural quality, enabling to study their pristine ...
