Nanoarchitectonics of Layered Metal Chalcogenides-Based Ternary Electrocatalyst for Water Splitting
The research on renewable energy is actively looking into electrocatalysts based on transition metal chalcogenides because nanostructured electrocatalysts support the higher intrinsic activity for both the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen ...

Metal-non-metal transition in silver chalcogenides
Ag2S and Ag2Se undergo polymorphic, first-order transitions at about 133°C and 179°C respectively. Above the transition temperatures both compounds are cubic body centred and characterized by a strongly disturbed sublattice of Ag+ ions in a quasi molten state. This disorder is of course associated with a relatively large ionic conductivity.

Band insulator to Mott insulator transition in 1T-TaS2
1T-TaS2 possesses complex electronic phase behaviors in transition-metal di-chalcogenides, undergoing several charge-ordered phases before finally into an insulating state of unknown origin.

Longitudinal unzipping of 2D transition metal dichalcogenides
Reliable unzipping of the basal plane of mono-elemental graphene and phosphorene has only been reported thus far. Here, the authors demonstrate the unzipping of bi-elemental 2D MX2 transition metal chalcogenides as a general route to synthesize 1D ...

Understanding and Designing Phase Change Materials: Insights From Atom Probe Tomography. [PDF]
Atom probe tomography can distinguish metallic, covalent, and metavalent bonds based upon their bond rupture; in particular, the probability to form more than one ion (PME) in laser‐assisted field evaporation. These findings open new avenues in understanding and designing phase change materials (PCMs) since they allow quantification of bonds in solids ...

Interlayer Chemical Modulation of Phase Transitions in Two-Dimensional Metal Chalcogenides
Two-dimensional metal chalcogenides (2D-MCs) with complex interactions are usually rich in phase transition behavior, such as superconductivity, charge density wave (CDW), and magnetic transitions, which hold great promise for the exploration of exciting
