UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

Nanostructured transition metal oxides obtained by SPVD

open access: yes, 2020
The interest in the unique properties associated with materials having structures on a nanometer scale has been increasing at an exponential rate in last decade. Transition metal oxides are preferred materials for catalytic applications due to their half-

Surface Oxidation of Transition Metal Nitrides [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Physical Chemistry C
The well-known Haber-Bosch process for NH3 production is highly inefficient, with a significant energy demand and CO2 emissions. Alternative approaches, including electrochemical ammonia synthesis from N2 and H2, are attractive, but the sluggish nitrogen reduction reaction (NRR) that arises from the high energy input to activate N2 remains a ...

Mechanochemical Synthesis and Characterization of Nanostructured ErB4 and NdB4 Rare‐Earth Tetraborides

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Mesoporous Crystals of Transition Metal Oxides

open access: yes, 2008
Using mesoporous silicas as hard templates and facilitating crystal growth of transition metal oxides inside the pores, some mesoporous crystals can be produced after removing the templates.

Effect of Composition and Surface Type on Activity of Transition Metal Oxides and Sulfides for CO2 Electrochemical Reduction

open access: yes, 2020
Transition metal oxides (TMO) and transition metal sulfides (TMS) are proven to be promising electrocatalysts for CO2RR but there is no clear understanding on catalyst activity or product selectivity based on trends in binding free energies. Therefore, a

Laser Powder Bed Fusion of Alumina: Effects of Scanning Strategies on External and Internal Defects

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates how scanning strategies affect pure alumina in laser powder bed fusion. Linear 45° scanning yields uniform surfaces but high porosity, while the island‐concentric strategy provides higher density with through‐holes favorable for infiltration. Findings highlight pathways toward optimizing defect‐free alumina parts.

Andreev reflection spectroscopy in transition metal oxides. [PDF]

open access: yesPhilos Trans A Math Phys Eng Sci, 2018
Here we review the literature concerning measurement of the Andreev reflection between a superconductor (S) and ferromagnet (F), with particular attention to the case where the ferromagnet is a transition metal oxide. We discuss the practicality of utilization of the current models for determination of the transport current spin polarization and ...

Carboxylic‐Acid Functionalized Multiwalled Carbon Nanotube‐Alkane‐Based Resistive Temperature Sensor for Cold Chain Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a reversible temperature sensor with high switching ratio, ∼103. The device is fabricated using PET‐ITO and carbon nanotube dispersions in alkane. Considering its application in cold chain logistics, a proof‐of‐concept with LED is showcased. Thus, a temperature drop below the threshold temperature (crystallization temperature of the
