Sporadic Dips from Extended Debris Transiting the Metal-rich White Dwarf SBSS 1232+563

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present the discovery of deep but sporadic transits in the flux of SBSS 1232+563, a metal-rich white dwarf polluted by disrupted exoplanetary debris.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Tapes, Tripods and Transits

open access: yes, 2012
This workbook was written to accompany the training course, Tapes, Tripods and Transits, and is a successor to the Surveying Methods for Local Highway Departments workbook written by Paul Cooney in 1994.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Photometric transits from the MACHO project database

open access: yes, 2004
We have searched the MACHO project photometry database for light curves consistent with the transits of low-luminosity objects. By analyzing the 180,000 brightest stars in 14 0.5 deg(2) fields toward the Galactic bulge, we have found a few hundred low ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Effectiveness of cable transits, and how it is easily void [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Large installations use different shielded, or EMC, zones to separate regions, such as in the integrated mast onboard naval vessels. Multiple cable transits are being used as a standard decoupling measure between the zones.
