Professional translators of technical documents often use Translation Memory (TM) systems in order to capitalize on the repetitions frequently observed in these documents. TM systems typically exploit not only complete matches between the source sentence to be translated and some previously translated sentence, but also so-called fuzzy matches, where ...

Combining Translation Memory with Neural Machine Translation
Proceedings of the 6th Workshop on Asian Translation, 2019In this paper, we report our submission systems (geoduck) to the Timely Disclosure task on the 6th Workshop on Asian Translation (WAT) (Nakazawa et al., 2019). Our system employs a combined approach of translation memory and Neural Machine Translation (NMT) models, where we can select final translation outputs from either a translation memory or an NMT

Translation memory and the freelance translator
IEE Colloquium on The Language Toolkit for Engineers in Business, 1997Translation memory, whilst having been available for some while, is only now beginning to gain acceptance. It is a means of producing consistent, high quality work faster, with the reassuring knowledge that any automated translation process uses your own previously checked work, and not computer-generated phrases. Translation memory is a tool which has
