Machine Translation

open access: yesTrabalhos em Linguística Aplicada, 2021
Considering the boost in technological development, and that machine translation has been widely used by both industry and academia, the main goal of this paper is to describe possibilities for the incorporation of a basic machine translation module in a

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Image segmentation method of rail head defects and area measurement of selected segments [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences
The operation safety of railway transport, which is the most important economic and social factor, is largely determined by the technical condition of the rail track and measures to maintain the quality of its track management system.

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Technology, translation

open access: yes, 2020
Critical engagement with the role of technologies in translation has been slow in emergingwithin translation studies but has been gathering pace since the second decade of thiscentury. As translation becomes more fully understood as social practice and is increasinglystudied through sociological lenses, the materials and tools involved in that practice

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

AI in Language Access: Mapping Training Needs Through the Lens of Language Access Managers

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The expansion of AI technologies is redefining the pedagogical frameworks and theoretical foundations of translation training. One area of interest at the intersection of professional and non-professional translation is the field of language access. This

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

A survey of detection techniques for sperm whale and dolphin echolocation clicks

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science
Echolocation clicks, emitted by Sperm Whales (Physeter macrocephalus) and Dolphins for foraging, echolocation and socialization, serve as bioindicators for monitoring marine ecosystems.
