Rocketsonde Transmission Link Characteristics

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1970
An improvement in high altitude communication with a small, rocket-borne sonde can be achieved by transmitting circularly polarized waves. Signal losses due to cross polarization of linear antennas can be reduced. Measured radiation patterns for instrument mounted linear and several helical antennas are presented. Flight data are discussed.

Characteristics of Beyond-the-Horizon Radio Transmission

Proceedings of the IRE, 1955
During the past five years, it has been definitely established that useful radio signals at all frequencies can be received consistently at distances far beyond the horizon. These facts have forced a considerable modification of the theories, concepts and charts found in most textbooks and handbooks. Even more important, these facts have opened up many

Transmission characteristics of fibre gratings

IEE Proceedings J Optoelectronics, 1991
The transmission against wavelength curves for single mode fibre Bragg gratings often shows a hitherto unexplained double dip. In this paper the theory for calculation of radiation from waveguides incorporating a periodic structure is refined and extended.

Transmission characteristics of transport alumina

Journal of Materials Science Letters, 1986
Compared to glass, a transparent refractory has the advantage of withstanding high temperatures. Pressure sintering methods are limited by high costs and in a crystalline medium the transmission is restricted by the scattering of light by the pores. The gel method is appealing, as the material can be prepared at a lower temperature and light scattering

The transmission characteristics of a corrugated guide

IRE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1959
The transmission characteristics of a corrugated guide are analyzed under the assumption that the guide wavelength is always much greater than the "corrugation constant" ( D_{1}+D_{2} ). The corrugated guide is, therefore, replaced by a quasi-homogeneous but anisotropic medium whose dielectric constant and permeability are represented by tensors.

Double Barrier Transmission Characteristics

Journal of Applied Physics, 1965
A general expression for the time-independent transmission coefficient of a double barrier is derived. Unity double barrier transmission is found possible for all energy levels above or below the double barrier potential energy levels. The conditions under which unity transmission occurs are obtained and discussed.

Characteristics of Digital Baseband Transmission

1996
Digital transmission systems usually transport information in a band of restricted width that is centered around some carrier frequency. The carrier frequency is typically large with respect to the bandwidth of the information-bearing signal, but in some cases (notably in certain voiceband data modems) it is of the same order of magnitude.
