Nondestructive evaluation of grout defect in rock bolt using electromagnetic waves

open access: yesDevelopments in the Built Environment
This study aims to inspect grout defects in rock bolts using electromagnetic (EM) waves. The experiments are conducted using one intact rock bolt and eight defective rock bolts with defect ratios (DR) of 10–50%.

Soft defects diagnosis in coaxial transmission lines

open access: yes, 2016

Historical Foundation and Practical Guideline for Ferroelectric Switching Kinetic Studies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The P and U pulses in the conventional PUND measurements are not identical because of the interplay between switching current and the measurement circuit components. This circuit effect can lead to a shift in polarization transients and misinterpreted physics in the switching kinetics.

A Novel Approach To Utilize Plc To Detect Corroded And Eroded Segments Of Power Transmission Lines

open access: yes, 2015
A great number of existing power transmission lines have aged throughout the world. A considerable proportion of them are located in the environments that exacerbate their corrosion and erosion process.

Research on Detection of Icing Cover Transmission Lines Under Different Weather Conditions Based on Wide-Field Dynamic Convolutional Network LDKA-NET

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The safety of transmission lines is a crucial guarantee for the operation of the power grid. To address the issue of low detection accuracy for icing transmission line defects with existing models, this paper proposes a defect detection algorithm for ...

Dipole‐Engineered Conductive Additives for Ultrastable Interphase Evolution in High‐Areal‐Capacity Silicon Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In the work reported herein, dipole‐engineered sulfonated carbon nanofibers enable conductive additives to actively regulate interphase formation in silicon anodes. Polar sulfonyl groups guide electrolyte decomposition to form a compact LiF‐rich interphase while promoting robust integration with silicon.

Imaging and Characterization of Thick Production-Line Microelectronic Components using Transmission Acoustic Microscopy

open access: yes, 1979
The interfacial regions of four types of production-line microelectronic components (die-bonded transistor headers, high power silicon transistors, chip-resistors, and multilayer chip-capacitors) have been examined using a transmission scanning acoustic ...
