Imprinting and deviation from Mendelian transmission ratios
Genome, 2001Deviations from a Mendelian 1:1 transmission ratio have been observed in human and mouse chromosomes. With few exceptions, the underlying mechanism of the transmission-ratio distortion remains obscure. We tested a hypothesis that grandparental-origin dependent transmission-ratio distortion is related to imprinting and possibly results from the loss of ...

Urethral Pressures: Analysis of Transmission Pressure Ratios
British Journal of Urology, 1991Summary Transmission pressure ratio (TPR) analysis of urethral pressure profilometry data has been advocated for the diagnosis of genuine stress incontinence (GSI). However, the clinical usefulness of the technique has not been adequately evaluated. Using videourodynamics as the gold standard, the TPR results of

Pressure transmission ratios are designed to study objectively the relative transmission of pressure to the bladder and the urethra during stress. Characteristically the stress is continuous coughing during the measurement of the cough urethral closure pressure profile. The magnitude of the pressure transmitted to these two organs is determined in Fig.

Transmission Ratio Distortion in Mice
Annual Review of Genetics, 2003▪ Abstract  The most studied example of transmission ratio distortion (TRD) in mice is that of the t-complex. This is a variant region of Chromosome 17 which exists as a polymorphism in wild mice. Males heterozygous for a t-haplotype and a normal Chr 17 transmit the t-haplotype to >50% of their young, up to 99%. Homozygous males are sterile.

Ratio Changing the Continuously Variable Transmission
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2004
The ratio changing mechanics of the continuously variable transmissions are developed. The lever analogy of gear sets, comparison to step gear transmission mechanics, differential calculus analysis, and the step gear ratio changing equations are used.

Mechanisms with discontinuous transmission ratios
Mechanism and Machine Theory, 1973Abstract A 6-bar linkage with certain dimensions can provide an instantaneous reversal in the sign of the transmission ratio between input and output. By adding further components, it is possible to construct mechanisms that provide discontinuous transmission ratios without reversal, and without using edge-contacts or deformable members.

Transmission ratio calibration for electro-mechanically actuated continuously variable transmission
International Journal of Advanced Mechatronic Systems, 2017Continuously variable transmission (CVT) with a metal pushing V-belt is widely used by car manufacturers for its advantages particularly in fuel economy. Nevertheless, this CVT currently applies a hydraulic-based actuation system to change and to maintain the desired CVT ratio which leads to reduction of CVT's efficiency due to engine's continuous ...

Axle Ratios and Transmission Steps
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1929
STATING that improvements can be made in the smoothness, flexibility and economy of motor-cars by the provision of axle ratios and transmission steps that will make high road-speeds possible with lower engine-speeds than at present, and without increasing the size of the engine, the author ...

Elucidating mouse transmission ratio distortion
Nature Genetics, 2005A proportion of wild mice carry a variant region of chromosome 17 that results in severe transmission ratio distortion in males. The genetic basis of this distortion has long been enigmatic, but a recent study begins to disentangle it.

Novel Gear Transmission Mechanism With Twice Unequal Amplitude Transmission Ratio
Journal of Mechanical Design, 2019The operation effectiveness of multi-bar transplanting mechanisms is low, and the specific changing law of the transmission ratio (the curve of the transmission ratio has twice unequal amplitude [TUA] fluctuation.), which is needed in vegetable pot seedling transplanting, is difficult to fulfill using a planetary gear train with noncircular gears and a
