ABSTRACT Objective Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) is one of the most debilitating and common muscular dystrophies. Despite its severity, no approved therapy exists for FSHD patients. However, several therapeutic candidates are currently under development, and some have recently entered clinical trials, marking the need for reliable ...

Detection of Water Content in Rapeseed Leaves Using Terahertz Spectroscopy
The terahertz (THz) spectra of rapeseed leaves with different water content (WC) were investigated. The transmission and absorption spectra in the range of 0.3–2 THz were measured by using THz time-domain spectroscopy.

Indexing neutron transmission spectra of a rotating crystal
Neutron time-of-flight transmission spectra of mosaic crystals contain Bragg dips, i.e. , minima at wavelengths corresponding to diffraction reflections. The positions of the dips are used for investigating crystal lattices.

ABSTRACT Objective Neurochemical levels measured by brain MR spectroscopy (MRS) have been proposed as endpoints for clinical trials in early‐stage spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA) trials. We tested their trial‐readiness by quantifying neurochemicals in three affected brain regions in early‐stage cohorts of SCA2 and SCA3, examining their reproducibility in ...

Spectral properties in the filter based on phase-shifted grating and Sagnac loop
In this paper,a filter was designed basing on the phase shift grating and Sagnac loop. The theoretical model of the filter using Jones Matrix has been established, and the expression of the transmission spectrum has been deduced. The numerical simulations ...

T1 Over Squared Proton Density Ratio to Characterize Multiple Sclerosis Lesions
ABSTRACT Objective Differentiating remyelinated from demyelinated lesions in MS remains challenging without histological confirmation. This study introduces the T1‐to‐PD2 ratio (TPR) imaging approach and evaluates its ability to characterize MS lesions alongside other quantitative MRI (qMRI) metrics. Methods Thirty individuals with MS (mean age: 47.5 ±

Eigenmode symmetry for simple cubic lattices and the transmission spectra
The existence of uncoupled modes is identified by gaps in the transmission spectra when the density of states is nonzero. We use a group theoretic analysis of the photonic band structure for a simple cubic lattice to tag the symmetry and polarization of each band.

Gravity‐Dependent Modulation of Downbeat Nystagmus: Insights From Velocity‐Storage Dysfunction
ABSTRACT Objective Downbeat nystagmus varies with head position, a phenomenon termed gravity‐dependent modulation. We aimed to clarify its mechanism using a velocity‐storage model. Methods In 10 patients with downbeat nystagmus due to cerebellar disorders, we recorded eye movements at different pitch‐ and roll‐axis head positions.
