Biconical Cavity Utilised in Realising Quadruple‐ and Quintuple‐Mode Wideband Bandpass Filters

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation
This work introduces the biconical cavity as a high‐performance resonator for multimode wideband bandpass filters. Unlike conventional cylindrical cavities, its tapered geometry enhances mode separation and extends the rejection band compared to an equal‐

Chirality and Organization of Adsorbates Modify Surface Phonon Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Chirality and molecular organization are shown to influence surface phonon dynamics in gold films. Time‐resolved Joule heating measurements reveal that ordered homochiral monolayers increase the Debye temperature and disordered layers reduce it, while ordered racemic controls have no effect.

Coating Artificial Spider Silk Fiber with Magnetic FeCo: An Effective Strategy for Creating a Flexible Magneto‐Responsive Material

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An original method is presented for producing artificial spider silk fibers with magnetic and magnetomechanical responsiveness, which consists in coating them with a nanometer‐thick layer of FeCo alloy by sputtering deposition. The challenge of combining organic materials and inorganic magnetic nanostructures is addressed, thus taking a step forward ...

An original topology of dual-band filter with transmission zeros

open access: yes, 2003
International audienceThis paper reports on a new topology of high-performance dual-band filters. This topology is derived from the Dual Behavior Resonator (DBR) filter. The resulting resonator is directly dual-band.

Stopband-Extended and Size-Miniaturized Low-Pass Filter Based on Interdigital Capacitor Loaded Hairpin Resonator with Four Transmission Zeros

open access: yes, 2018
In this paper, a compact low-pass filter (LPF) with wide stopband is proposed based on interdigital capacitor loaded hairpin resonator. The structure composed of an upper high-impedance transmission line, a middle interdigital capacitor, and a pair of ...

Compact and High-Selectivity SIW Multi-Channel Diplexers and Dual-Band Filters Based on the Lowest-Order Dual-Mode Box-Like Topology

open access: yesIEEE Access
This paper proposes a class of compact, sharp roll-off, and substrate-integrated-waveguide (SIW) multi-channel diplexers and dual-band filters based on the lowest-order dual-mode (DM) box-like topology.

Solution‐Processed Two‐Dimensional Indium Oxide on Sodium‐Embedded Alumina for Reconfigurable Optoelectronic Synaptic Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Wafer‐scale two‐dimensioanl In2Se3 oxidized into InOx on sodium‐embedded beta‐alumina enables multifunctional reconfigurable electronics. Sodium ions accumulate within distinct spatial distribution under drain‐controlle and gate‐controlled operation. Drain‐control operation gives controllability of ultraviolet‐driven optoelectronic synaptic conductance

On sampled-data system zeros

open access: yes, 2001
The notion of zeros of sampled-data systems were presented so that from the continuous-time viewpoint such zeros possess signal transmission blocking properties.

Ebola: Bumpy road to zero transmission

open access: yesAfrica Renewal, 2016
Paolo Conteh, Sierra Leone’s defence minister and head of the country’s National Ebola Response Centre, was an athlete who set a 400-metres national record in 1982 that remains unbeaten to this day. These days, Mr. Conteh uses a sporting analogy to explain the fight against the Ebola virus disease, which has resulted in more than 22,000 infections and ...
