This paper presents a novel structural optimization approach for an asymmetrical inline topology with transmission zeros, known as Extracted Pole Unit (EPU) filter using a goal-oriented reinforcement learning method, specifically a hybrid of Soft Actor ...

Conductance Phases in Aharonov-Bohm Ring Quantum Dots
The regimes of growing phases (for electron numbers N~0-8) that pass into regions of self-returning phases (for N>8), found recently in quantum dot conductances by the Weizmann group are accounted for by an elementary Green function formalism ...

Feedback methods for inverse simulation of dynamic models for engineering systems applications [PDF]
Inverse simulation is a form of inverse modelling in which computer simulation methods are used to find the time histories of input variables that, for a given model, match a set of required output responses.

Surface Tension Measurement of Ti‐6Al‐4V by Falling Droplet Method in Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere
In this article, the temperature‐dependent surface tension of free falling, oscillating Ti‐6Al‐4V droplets is investigated in both argon and monosilane doped, oxygen‐free atmosphere. Droplet temperature and oscillation are captured with one single high‐speed camera, and the surface tension is calculated with Rayleigh's formula.

Squaring-Up Method for Relative Degree Two Plants [PDF]
--- Non-square multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) plants are becoming increasingly common, as the addition of multiple sensors is becoming prevalent. However, square systems are needed sometimes as an leverage when it comes to design and analysis, as they ...

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Fano resonances in a three-terminal nanodevice
The electron transport through a quantum sphere with three one-dimensional wires attached to it is investigated. An explicit form for the transmission coefficient as a function of the electron energy is found from the first principles.

Asymmetric Dual-Mode Microstrip Filters with Adjustable Transmission Zero
A new type of dual-mode resonator that produces asymmetrical frequency responses is proposed. The effect of nonorthogonal input/output feed lines located along a straight line on filter response is investigated for the dual-mode filter. The coupling between degenerate modes of the proposed dual- mode microstrip resonator is discussed depending on the ...
