Optical Antenna Gain 1: Transmitting Antennas
Applied Optics, 1974The gain of centrally obscured optical transmitting antennas is analyzed in detail. The calculations, resulting in near- and far-field antenna gain patterns, assume a circular antenna illuminated by a laser operating in the TEM(00) mode. A simple polynomial equation is derived for matching the incident source distribution to a general antenna ...

Fundamental Transmitting Properties of Carbon Nanotube Antennas
2005 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2005Fundamental properties of dipole transmitting antennas formed by carbon nanotubes are investigated. Since carbon nanotubes can be grown to centimeter lengths, and since they can be metallic, the properties of carbon nanotubes as antenna elements are of fundamental interest. In this paper, dipole carbon nanotube antennas are investigated via a classical

Adaptive techniques are commonly used to protect receiving antennas from interference. However, adaptive techniques have not been applied to transmitting antennas. An example of adaptively controlling a transmitting antenna is described. This adaptive transmit antenna concept was motivated by requirements for future personal communication systems ...

Research on transmitting antennas
IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society Newsletter, 1989All of the characteristics of the batwing radiator, which is the heart of the superturnstile antenna system, are theoretically calculated by using the moment method. The matching condition is obtained on the basis of the characteristics, for the cases of changing the connection of the jumper(s) and of changing the distance between the support mast and ...

Novel Linear Decodable QO-STBC for Four Transmit Antennas with Transmit Antenna Shuffling
Wireless Personal Communications, 2014A conventional quasi orthogonal space time block code (QO-STBC) scheme can achieve full rate, but at the cost of decoding complexity. This limitation of the conventional QO-STBC scheme is mainly due to interference terms in the detection matrix. In this article, a novel QO-STBC scheme is proposed which eliminates the interference terms.

Two transmit antennas placed symmetrically for a linear cell downlink distributed antenna system with Alamouti space-time block coding over Rayleigh fading channels. For mobile station located in different places in the cell, which mode should be selected by base station from one transmit antenna or two transmit antennas?
