Computational transonics [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, 1988
This paper is written to commemorate the sixitieth birthday of Paul Garabedian. As flight speed increased to the point that the flow was dominated by compressibility effects, the focus moved to transonic flow, and it was in this field that Paul Garabedian's contributions were particularly significant.

Tip gap size effects on thermal performance of cavity-winglet tips in transonic turbine cascade with endwall motion

open access: yesJournal of the Global Power and Propulsion Society, 2017
The thermal performance of two cavity-winglet tips with endwall motion is investigated in a transonic high pressure turbine cascade, which operates at an engine representative exit Mach number of 1.2 and an exit Reynolds number of 1.7 × 106.

Development and Application of Open Rotor Discrete Noise Prediction Program Using Time-Domain Methods

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The aerodynamic noise of an open rotor is one of the critical challenges that must be considered in its design and application. FODNOPP, a program specifically programmed to predict the aerodynamic discrete noise of single- and counter-rotating open ...

Characteristic prediction method of transonic axial flow turbine

open access: yesZhongguo Jianchuan Yanjiu, 2021
ObjectivesRegarding transonic flow occurring at the throat of the stator blades of axial flow turbines at high subsonic and transonic speeds, it is will need a long period of time to have 3D reseach and to obtain the characteristic parameters. Therefore,

Analysis of the Transonic Buffet Characteristics of Stationary and Pitching OAT15A Airfoil

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Transonic buffet flow is a classical complex and unstable flow that has a negative effect on aircraft fly safety. Therefore, it is crucial to study the unsteady characteristics of buffet flow. The numerical analysis method is very useful in achieving the

Shock Wave Capturing Numerically in Two Dimensional Supersonic Wind Tunnel for Different Configuration [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2012
Numerical solutions of two dimensional Euler equations are obtained for transonic and supersonic flows. The shock capturing method is employed to solve compressible Euler equations by using MacCormack's time marching method that an explicit finite ...

Study of Separation Control of Vortex Generators on Transonic Wings

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2011
Flows around vortex generators (VGs), which serve as one of the important flow control methods, are investigated by solving Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations. The influences on the main flow of VGs are intended to explore.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).
