Transparent Yb3+ doped phosphate glass-ceramics [PDF]
Abstract Yb3+ doped oxyfluorophosphate glasses with the composition (98.75) [90NaPO3-(10-x) Na2O-xNaF] - 1.25Yb2O3 (in mol%) with x = 0, 2.5, 5, 7.5 and 10 were prepared using a standard melting process. The progressive replacement of Na2O by NaF leads to an increase in the number of Q2 units at the expense of the Q1 units.

Processing of transparent glass-ceramics by nanocrystallisation of LaF3 [PDF]
Transparent glass-ceramics have been prepared by heat-treating oxyfluoride glasses in the Na2O–Al2O3–SiO2–LaF3 system. The nanocrystallisation of LaF3 was achieved by controlling time and temperature parameters. Glasses and glass-ceramics were characterised by dilatometry, DTA, XRD and TEM. The mean crystal size (

Microstructure of Transparent Strontium Fresnoite Glass-Ceramics [PDF]
AbstractGlass-ceramics grown from a glass of the composition Sr2TiSi2.45O8.9 (STS 45) are analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD). Oriented nucleation with the c-axes preferably perpendicular to the surface is detected.
