Triglyceride absorption in transperitoneal alimentation

The American Journal of Surgery, 1990
In 17 fasted rabbits, a 20% solution of Intralipid was administered into the peritoneal cavity. Oral and intravenous feedings were not provided. Eight of the rabbits underwent resection of 50% of the intestine. Serial samples of serum and peritoneal fluid showed that half of the triglyceride was absorbed within 1 hour in rabbits with intact viscera ...

Transperitoneal Adrenalectomy

2015
Laparoscopic transperitoneal adrenalectomy was first reported in 1992 by Gagner et al. [1]. During the last decade, it has largely replaced the open approach as the standard of care for adrenal gland removal, especially for benign tumors, given the well-known advantages of minimally invasive surgery.

Simple Nephrectomy: Transperitoneal Approach

Journal of Endourology, 2000
Transperitoneal laparoscopic nephrectomy is performed much as originally described by Clayman and associates, although preoperative embolization of the kidney is no longer routine. Some surgeons use a hand-assisted technique, especially in difficult cases or when the organ is being removed intact, as in live-donor nephrectomy.

Transperitoneal Transport of Glucose In Vitro

Artificial Organs, 2000
Abstract: The effect of fluid mixing intensification, damage of mesothelial cells, gentamicin, and icodextrin on the diffusive glucose transport across the peritoneal membrane were evaluated in in vitro studies. A mathematical model of mass transport was used to calculate the diffusive permeability, expressed as a diffusive permeability coefficient (P).

Pharmacokinetics of Transperitoneal Insulin Transport

Nephron, 2008
Seven type I insulin-dependent diabetic patients on continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis treatment were selected for this study. Each patient participated in three different 6-hour ‘single-dwell’ studies on 3 consecutive days. A mean dose of 33 ± 1.3 U Insulin Actrapid Human was given intraperitoneally each day.

Experimental Transperitoneal Laparoscopic Pyloroplasty

Surgical Laparoscopy, Endoscopy & Percutaneous Techniques, 1992
Interest in laparoscopic abdominal surgery continues to grow, which has persuaded a number of centers to pursue actively laparoscopic techniques that will allow surgeons to perform additional operative procedures in a less invasive manner. Peptic ulcer surgery, because of the morbidity associated with gastric surgery as well as the pain and discomfort ...
