No evidence that FLT3 status should be considered as an indicator for transplantation in acute myeloid leukemia (AML): an analysis of 1135 patients, excluding acute promyelocytic leukemia, from the UK MRC AML 10 and 12 trials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Fetal liver tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3) internal tandem duplications (ITDs) are powerful adverse prognostic indicators for relapse in acute myelold leukemia (AML) but the most efficacious therapy for FLT3/ ITD+ patients is currently unknown.

Efficiency in Lung Transplant Allocation Strategies [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
Currently in the United States, lung transplantations are allocated to candidates according to the candidates' Lung Allocation Score (LAS). The LAS is an ad-hoc ranking system for patients' priorities of transplantation. The goal of this study is to develop a framework for improving patients' life expectancy over the LAS based on a comprehensive ...

Multi‐Module Micro/Nanorobots for Biomedical and Environmental Remediation Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Multi‐module microrobots (MNRs) have overcome the limitations of single‐module systems by integrating components such as propeller, actuator, manipulator, and imaging modalities. They show promise in biomedical applications, such as targeted drug delivery and tissue repair, as well as in environmental remediation, including pollutant removal.

Evaluation of the Repair of Bone Defect after Bone Marrow Stromal Cell Transplantation in Rat

open access: yesJournal of Fasa University of Medical Sciences, 2013
Background & Objective: Bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) are multipotent stem cells that can proliferate and differentiate into osteogenic cells . T his study aimed to investigate the effects of BMSC transplantation for the repair of bone defects in the

Autologous parathyroid gland in left-brachioradialis transplantation: A single-center study and long-term follow-up

open access: yesAsian Journal of Surgery, 2023
Parathyroid gland transplantation into the sternocleidomastoid muscle is effective, but it is not possible to confirm transplant survival with this method.

Salvage regimens with autologous transplantation for relapsed large B-cell lymphoma in the rituximab era.

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Oncology, 2010
PURPOSE Salvage chemotherapy followed by high-dose therapy and autologous stem-cell transplantation (ASCT) is the standard treatment for relapsed diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).

The glia response after peripheral nerve injury: A comparison between Schwann cells and olfactory ensheathing cells and their uses for neural regenerative therapies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The peripheral nervous system (PNS) exhibits a much larger capacity for regeneration than the central nervous system (CNS). One reason for this difference is the difference in glial cell types between the two systems.

A weighted transplantation theorem for Jacobi coefficients [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
We present a transplantation theorem for Jacobi coefficients in weighted spaces. In fact, by using a discrete vector-valued local Calder\'{o}n-Zygmund theory, which has recently been furnished, we prove the boundedness of transplantation operators from $\ell^p(\mathbb{N},w)$ into itself, where $w$ is a weight in the discrete Muckenhoupt class $A_{p ...

Tracking intracavernously injected adipose-derived stem cells to bone marrow. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The intracavernous (i.c.) injection of stem cells (SCs) has been shown to improve erectile function in various erectile dysfunction (ED) animal models. However, the tissue distribution of the injected cells remains unknown.

Line graphs and the transplantation method [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
We study isospectrality for mixed Dirichlet-Neumann boundary conditions, and extend the previously derived graph-theoretic formulation of the transplantation method. Led by the theory of Brownian motion, we introduce vertex-colored and edge-colored line graphs that give rise to block diagonal transplantation matrices.
