Long-term patency and complications of ringed polytetrafluoroethylene grafts used for middle hepatic vein reconstruction in living-donor liver transplantation

open access: yesKorean Journal of Transplantation, 2020
Background : Homologous vein allografts are adequate for reconstruction of the middle hepatic vein (MHV) in living-donor liver transplantation (LDLT). However, supply is a matter of concern. To replace homologous vein allografts, polytetrafluoroethylene (

SIRT6‐Mediated Deacetylation of ATF3 Promotes Silica‐Induced Lung Fibrosis by Enhancing its Nuclear Import via Binding to Importin α

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SIRT6‐mediated ATF3 acetylation drives MGARP transcription and mitochondrial dysfunction in macrophages, promoting macrophage senescence and pulmonary fibrosis. Mechanistically, HSP70/Importin α competitively binds to ATF3, modulating its nuclear translocation.

Xenogeneic Mitochondrial Transplantation Improves Selected Age‐Associated Phenotypes in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Yak‐derived xenogeneic mitochondrial transplantation improves selected age‐associated phenotypes in mice, enhances mitochondrial functional readouts, and engages host mitochondrial quality‐control pathways. Broad tissue biodistribution, increased ATP production and mtDNA copy number, reduced ROS levels and dysfunctional mitochondria, improved motility ...

Embryonic Cell Grafts in a Culture Model of Spinal Cord Lesion: Neuronal Relay Formation is Essential for Functional Regeneration

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular Neuroscience, 2016
Presently there exists no cure for spinal cord injury. However, transplantation of embryonic tissue into spinal cord lesions resulted in axon outgrowth across the lesion site and some functional recovery, fostering hope for future stem cell therapies ...

Resistant Peanut Genotype Reprograms Rhizosphere Metabolism to Enhance Bacterial Wilt Suppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The resistant peanut genotype selectively recruits beneficial bacteria, which coincides with the activation of salicylic acid (SA)‐dependent systemic acquired resistance (SAR) against Ralstonia solanacearum. Keystone rhizosphere metabolites are positively correlated with both beneficial microbiome assembly and SAR gene expression.

Cold ischemia or topical-ECMO for lung preservation: a randomized experimental study

open access: yesSão Paulo Medical Journal
CONTEXT AND OBJECTIVE: Lung preservation remains a challenging issue for lung transplantation groups. Along with the development of ex vivo lung perfusion, a new preservation method known as topical-ECMO (extracorporal membrane oxygenation) has been ...
