Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Financial Analysis of a Rice Transplanter Usage in Farming Activity at the Junrejo District in Batu City

open access: yesWacana: Jurnal Sosial dan Humaniora, 2019
The rice transplanter machine is required to overcome the scarcity of agricultural workers particularly for labor of rice planting. The rice transplanter itself is a machine used to plant rice seedlings into a paddy field. The usage of rice transplanter

MSP 13 PRODUCTIVITY USING RICE TRANSPLANTER

open access: yesJurnal Agrotek Tropika
Rice is food majority of Indonesia's population, Indonesia's rice production decreases every year. The decline in national rice production is caused including low rice productivity, land conversion and inappropriate cultivation techniques.

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Development and evaluation of tractor operated transplanter for wash root paddy (Oryza sativa) nursery

open access: yesThe Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences
Most of the paddy (Oryza sativa L.) crop is typically transplanted manually by migrant workers in north-western Indian region. Despite several efforts to promote the existing mat-type nursery-fed paddy transplanter, farmers have not adopted this ...

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Development of a transplanter-based transplanter for vegetable seedlings cultured in a cuttable nursery mat

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Engineering
To ease transplantation, which is labor-intensive and strongly influences yield, fully automatic vegetable transplanters have been developed; however, most of them are heavy and expensive.
