Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Low Mach and Peclet number limit for a model of stellar tachocline and upper radiative zones

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2016
We study a hydrodynamical model describing the motion of internal stellar layers based on compressible Navier-Stokes-Fourier-Poisson system. We suppose that the medium is electrically charged, we include energy exchanges through radiative transfer and

Phase Retrieval in Short-Range Optical Communication Using Temporal Transport-of-Intensity Equation with Direct Detection

open access: yesPhotonics
Direct detection (DD) is a straightforward, cost-effective receiving scheme for medium- and short-range fiber-optic communication systems, yet directly accessing phase information presents inherent challenges. The temporal transport-of-intensity equation

Diffusion of Monochromatic Classical Waves

open access: yes, 2005
We study the diffusion of monochromatic classical waves in a disordered acoustic medium by scattering theory. In order to avoid artifacts associated with mathematical point scatterers, we model the randomness by small but finite insertions.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

On the theory of astronomical maser. I. Statistics of maser radiation

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper we re-analyse the amplification process of broadband continuum radiation by astronomical masers in one-dimensional case. The basic equations appropriate for the scalar maser and the random nature of the maser radiation field are derived ...

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Scaling dependence on time and distance in nonlinear fractional diffusion equations and possible applications to the water transport in soils

open access: yes, 2004
Recently, fractional derivatives have been employed to analyze various systems in engineering, physics, finance and hidrology. For instance, they have been used to investigate anomalous diffusion processes which are present in different physical systems ...

Solving the stationary Liouville equation via a boundary element method

open access: yes, 2012
Intensity distributions of linear wave fields are, in the high frequency limit, often approximated in terms of flow or transport equations in phase space.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated
