End-network-collaborative and self-adaptive optimization for transport layer

open access: yesDianxin kexue
Under the existing layered network architecture, the transport layer is only able to provide undifferentiated end-to-end transmission services to upper-layer applications through inter-layer interfaces, lacking the capability to autonomously adjust ...

Feasibility and Tolerability of Performing Portable MRI for Neurological Disorders in an Outpatient Neurology Clinic: A Prospective Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Accessing brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be challenging, especially for underserved patients, which may lead to disparities in neurological diagnosis. Method This mixed‐methods study enrolled adults with one of four neurological disorders: mild cognitive impairment or dementia of the Alzheimer type, multiple sclerosis ...

Analysis of Model Results for the Turning of the Wind and Related Momentum Fluxes in the Stable Boundary Layer

open access: yes, 2009
The turning of wind with height and the related cross-isobaric (ageostrophic) flow in the thermally stable stratified boundary layer is analysed from a variety of model results acquired in the first Global Energy and Water Cycle Experiment (GEWEX ...

Layer dependent thermal transport properties of one- to three-layer magnetic Fe:MoS2

open access: yesScientific Reports
Two-Dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides have been the subject of extensive attention thanks to their unique properties and atomically thin structure. Because of its unprecedented room-temperature magnetic properties, iron-doped MoS2 (Fe:MoS2) is

Specifying Secure Transport Layers

open access: yes, 2016
Security architectures often make use of secure transport protocols to protect network messages: the transport protocols provide secure channels between hosts. In this paper we present a hierarchy of specifications for secure channels. We give trace specifications capturing a number of different confidentiality and authentication properties that secure

A Depolarizing Leak in Sodium Bicarbonate Cotransporter NBCe1 Causes Brain Edema

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.

Enabling Realistic Cross-Layer Analysis based on Satellite Physical Layer Traces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We present a solution to evaluate the performance of transport protocols as a function of link layer reliability schemes (i.e. ARQ, FEC and Hybrid ARQ) applied to satellite physical layer traces.

Early Clinical, Imaging, and Pathological Characteristics of SRPK3/TTN‐Digenic Myopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective SRPK3/TTN‐digenic myopathy was recently established as a skeletal muscle myopathy caused by digenic inheritance. This study characterizes the early clinical presentation of SRPK3/TTN‐digenic myopathy in one previously reported and seven newly identified pediatric patients.

Semi-Analytical Methodology to Correct Polarization Curve to Measure Tafel Slope for an Electronic Resistance Laden Catalyst Layer

open access: yesECS Advances
The polarization curve of a fuel cell shows the relationship between operating current and cell voltage. The cell voltage is lower than the equilibrium voltage due to several losses within the system.

Plasma EV Proteomics Identifies ECM Remodeling and Inflammatory Proteins LUM and C7 as Candidate Biomarkers in FSHD

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) is one of the most debilitating and common muscular dystrophies. Despite its severity, no approved therapy exists for FSHD patients. However, several therapeutic candidates are currently under development, and some have recently entered clinical trials, marking the need for reliable ...
