Road Segment Traffic Flow Estimation From Sparse Vehicle Trajectory Data Using an Enhanced Macroscopic Fundamental Diagram

open access: yesIEEE Access
To address the “data silo” challenge in traffic flow data acquisition, this paper proposes a method for estimating urban road segment traffic flow from sparse vehicle trajectory data, predicated on the Macroscopic Fundamental Diagram (MFD).

Optoelectronically Active GaAs/GeSn‐MQW/Ge Heterojunctions Created via Semiconductor Grafting

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Semiconductor Grafting enables a lattice‐mismatched GaAs/GeSn‐MQW/Ge heterojunction with engineered band offsets and optical field distribution. The enlarged conduction and valence band discontinuities govern asymmetric carrier transport, producing bias‐dependent dual‐mode photodetection from visible to near‐infrared wavelengths.

A Markov model for inferring flows in directed contact networks

open access: yes, 2018
Directed contact networks (DCNs) are a particularly flexible and convenient class of temporal networks, useful for modeling and analyzing the transfer of discrete quantities in communications, transportation, epidemiology, etc.

Substituent Effects on Cyanine Dyes Vary with Position and Chain Length

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
In cyanines, substituent effects vary as a function of substituent position and cyanine length. Electron‐donating‐ and ‐withdrawing groups at meso‐ and α‐positions of 4n+1/4n−1 long cyanines (n = 1, 2, 3…) cause opposing, hypsochromic and bathochromic shifts of the 1st UV–vis absorption bands.

The Evolution of Laser‐Induced Damage Patterns in Polymer Stabilized Liquid Crystals: Insights From Morphological Characterization and Thermo‐Driven Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A dual‐domain PSLC architecture enables direct comparison of alignment‐dependent laser damage within a single device. Crack‐like and seal‐like morphologies emerge under different damage conditions, and their evolution is interpreted through quantitative image analysis and heat‐driven simulations.

Research on Train Loading and Unloading Mode and Scheduling Optimization in Automated Container Terminals

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
In some automated container terminals, railway lines have been implemented into the port, saving container transfer time. However, the equipment scheduling level of the railway yard needs to be improved for managers.

Insights Into Degradation Pathways of Perovskite Thin Films under Outdoor and Indoor Conditions: A Comparative Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This study compares indoor low‐light and outdoor high‐light degradation in perovskite thin films. Under ∼1000 lux [N2], films remain stable; in oxygen, the same low light triggers strain, surface oxidation, and shorter lifetimes. Whereas high light accelerates decomposition to PbI2 and metallic oxides.
