In Search of the Worlds of Compliance: Promises and Pitfalls of Quantitative Testing. IHS Political Science Series Paper No. 113, July 2007 [PDF]
The “worlds of compliance” typology as developed by Falkner/Treib/Hartlapp/Leiber (2005) builds on ideal-typical procedural modes of domestic adaptation to EU directives. Recently, the Journal of European Public Policy (JEPP) has published an interesting

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Although researchers have investigated absolute pitch and musical memory in individuals with cooccurring autism, congenital blindness, and exceptional musical ability, relatively little is known about other aspects of their musical talent.

Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Spatial transposition gradients in visual working memory
In list memory, access to individual items reflects limits of temporal distinctiveness. This is reflected in the finding that neighbouring list items tend to be confused most often. This article investigates the analogous effect of spatial proximity in a

Comparative structural analysis of IS21 transposition complexes using Cryo-EM and AlphaFold3
Transposition is a fundamental driver of genome evolution, enabling the movement of discrete DNA segments (transposons) within genomes. This process can modulate gene expression and contributes to the spread of antibiotic resistance and virulence factors.

Objective: Left subclavian artery revascularization is indicated in most cases of zone 2 aortic repair. This is commonly accomplished via left carotid to subclavian bypass (SB) or transposition.
