Atherosclerosis: Molecular Pathogenesis and Therapeutic Interventions
Molecular factors, like transforming growth factor beta (TGF‐β), mitogen‐activated protein kinase (MAPK), phosphoinositide 3‐kinase (PI3K), or cyclin‐dependent kinases (CDKs) 5 and 9, are essential modulators of atherosclerotic lesions. The novel, promising strategies for atherosclerosis treatment include therapies based on small interfering RNA (siRNA)

Here we report a novel de novo duplication of exons 8–16 of the MED13L gene in a patient with MED13L syndrome, presenting with an unreported phenotype: cleft lip. A review of previously reported patients with MED13L copy number variants is also conducted to refine genotype–phenotype correlations.

ABSTRACT Background Selection of recipient vessels in phalloplasty is challenging due to the absence of adequate vessels in the immediate proximity. There is no consensus on the appropriate vessel selection. We hypothesized that recipient vessel selection in phalloplasty is associated with differences in complications and flap survival.

Novel 3D CMR free‐breathing whole‐heart sequence demonstrated the feasibility of high‐resolution coronary angiography and simultaneous bright‐ and black‐blood imaging, together with joint T1/T2$$ {T}_1/{T}_2 $$ mapping despite the inherent limitations of low‐field strength at 0.55 T, suggesting its potential for comprehensive cardiac assessment in ...
