Targeting transradial approach.

Panminerva medica, 2016
Radial access for percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) emerged as a valid alternative to the standard femoral access with the aim of reduce the incidence of access-site bleeding and consequently improve clinical outcomes. Access-site bleeding is still one of the most common complications after PCI and is associated with increased short- and long ...

The Transradial Approach for Endovascular Treatment of Vasospasm

Operative Neurosurgery
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Patients treated with permissive hypertension during cerebral vasospasm, particularly those on antiplatelets, may have an increased risk of femoral access site complications after endovascular therapy.

The Transradial Approach for Bifurcation Lesions

2017
The history of transradial approach for cardiac catheterism begins before the one of transfemoral approach. The technique is adapted in 1992 for PCI by Kiemeneij. Since that time this approach is proved to be superior to femoral approach regarding the risk of vascular complications, more comfortable for the patient, perfectly adapted to outpatient ...

Transradial approach for challenging vascular access interventions

Vascular, 2014
Background Percutaneous interventional procedures for vascular access are usually performed using the draining cephalic or basilic vein. The transradial approach, which has been extensively investigated for coronary angiography and intervention, could be an attractive new technique for peri-anastomotic ...

The transradial approach for selective carotid and vertebral angiography

Acta Radiologica, 2002
The transradial approach is not so popular in cerebral angiography. The purpose of this study was therefore to present our experience of success rate and safety of this method. From December 1998 to June 2001, 526 carotid and vertebral angiographies with DSA were performed via the radial artery.

Overview of the transradial approach in percutaneous coronary intervention

Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine, 2007
Thirteen years have passed since the first percutaneous coronary intervention was performed at Onze Lieve Vrouwe Gasthuis in Amsterdam using the transradial approach (TRA). Since then TRA has spread through the interventional community and many centres have now adopted TRA as the arterial access of choice.

Transradial approach to take a little piece of heart

Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, 2015
Key Points Advances in sheathless‐guide technology can permit left ventricular endomyocardial biopsy through the radial artery. In experienced hands, the procedure can be done effectively with concurrent anticoagulation to both prevent system embolization from the biopsy site and to reduce the risk of radial artery occlusion.

Transradial approach to endovascular Infrarenal aortic repair

Cardiovascular Revascularization Medicine, 2018
Atherosclerotic disease of the abdominal aorta is relatively common. However chronic stenosis of the infrarenal aorta is a fairly rare condition that has been traditionally treated with open endarterectomy and aorto-bifemoral bypass surgery. These surgeries may be associated with a significant increase in mortality and morbidity.

[Transradial approach for diagnostic angiography].

Journal de radiologie, 2004
Seventy five arteriographies were performed via the transradial route using 5F 130cm - long catheter. Prior to puncture the radial artery was evaluated with Allen test. Satisfying quality examinations were obtained for the thoracic aorta, selective carotid arteries examinations, infra renal aorta, pelvic and legs arteries. The major advantages obtained

Transradial Approach for Coronary Interventions

2018
The transradial approach has been introduced as an alternative to the transfemoral approach to reduce bleeding complications after percutaneous coronary procedures. Over the past decade the transradial approach has been shown to reduce nurse workload, shorten hospital stay, and possibly reduce mortality in high-risk patients.
