Cyclic Behavior of Reinforced Concrete Beams with Corroded Transverse Steel Reinforcement
Journal of Structural Engineering, 2014This study examined the seismic performance of reinforced concrete beams with corrosion only induced in the transverse steel reinforcement by using cyclic loading. The beams were designed with closely spaced steel hoops as transverse reinforcement conforming to the seismic design provisions of the ACI 318 code. Seven beams were constructed.

Ultimate Displacement of Reinforced Concrete Columns with Light Transverse Reinforcement
Journal of Earthquake Engineering, 2012This article presents the analytical and experimental investigations carried out on reinforced concrete (RC) columns with light transverse reinforcement. A semi-empirical model is developed to estimate the ultimate displacement (displacement at axial failure) of RC columns with light transverse reinforcement subjected to simulated seismic loading.

Seismic investigation of reinforced concrete columns with different transverse reinforcements
Advances in Structural Engineering, 2022In this study, cyclic lateral load tests of eight large diameter circular reinforced concrete column specimens are conducted to investigate the feasibility and effectiveness of both single-cross and double-cross lap-spliced crossties on confining reinforced concrete columns.

Transverse Reinforcement of Adhesive Joints
Mechanics of Composite Materials, 2015The shear of single-lap adhesive joints causes significant peel stresses in the adhesive layer, which is a particularly urgent problem for low-modulus polyurethane compositions. An experimental and computational analysis of various methods for increasing the load-bearing capacity of the joints by their strengthening with metallic z-elements was carried

Journal of Composites for Construction, 2002
The paper aims to contribute to a better understanding and modeling of the shear behavior of reinforced-concrete (RC) beams strengthened with carbon fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) sheets. The study is based on an experimental program carried out on 11 beams with and without transverse steel reinforcement, and with different amounts of FRP shear ...

Crack-Based Modeling of FRP-Reinforced Deep Beams Without Transverse Reinforcement
2023One cause of deterioration in existing concrete structures is chloride-induced corrosion, which affects the steel reinforcement and its bond with the concrete. To address this issue, alternative types of non-corrosive internal reinforcement have been proposed.
