Shear Strength of FRP-Reinforced Concrete Beams without Transverse Reinforcement

ACI Structural Journal, 2006
This paper studied the behavior and shear strength of concrete slender beams reinforced with fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) bars. Nine large-scale reinforced concrete beams without stirrups were constructed and tested to failure. The beams measured 3250 mm long, 250 mm wide, and 400 mm deep and were tested in 4-point bending.

Strength of Epoxy-Coated Reinforcing Bar Splices Confined With Transverse reinforcement

ACI Structural Journal, 1993
This study determined the effect of epoxy-coated transverse reinforcement on the strength of epoxy-coated bar splices. Existing recommendations for design of splices and anchorage of epoxy-coated reinforcement were reviewed and modifications are suggested.

Limits for the Punching Shear Capacity of the Flat Slabs Reinforced with Transverse Reinforcement

Key Engineering Materials
One of the most effective and common ways of an increasing the punching shear capacity of the flat slabs is using of shear reinforcement. An important limit during the design is the determination of the maximum punching shear resistance. The fact that the calculation of such an important value is still clearly empirical has met with criticism from many

Shear Strength of Reinforced Concrete T-Beams without Transverse Reinforcement

ACI Structural Journal, 2006
A design method has been developed that can be used for calculating the shear strength of both steel and fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) reinforced concrete members. While this procedure has been shown to be an effective method for rectangular sections, this investigation explores its applicability for the design of flanged sections.

Performance of reinforced concrete columns with steel-belted tires as transverse reinforcement

2013
The majority of column failures observed during recent earthquakes were attributed to poor column behaviour caused by lack of inelastic deformability. The deformability of reinforced concrete columns can be improved through the confinement of potential plastic hinge regions by properly designed transverse reinforcement.
