Elinvar Materials: Recent Progress and Challenges
Elinvar materials, exhibiting temperature‐invariant elastic modulus, are critical for precision instruments and emerging technologies. This article reviews recent progress in the field, with a focus on the anomalous thermoelastic behavior observed in key material systems.

Analytical Solution for a Two-Layer Transversely Isotropic Half-Space Affected by an Arbitrary Shape Dynamic Surface Load [PDF]
The dynamic response of a transversely isotropic, linearly elastic layer bonded to the surface of a half-space of a different transversely isotropic material under arbitrary shape surface loads is considered.

The closest elastic tensor of arbitrary symmetry to an elasticity tensor of lower symmetry [PDF]
The closest tensors of higher symmetry classes are derived in explicit form for a given elasticity tensor of arbitrary symmetry. The mathematical problem is to minimize the elastic length or distance between the given tensor and the closest elasticity ...

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Numerical Exploration of Thermal Shock Resistance in MgO–C Refractories
A mesostructure‐resolved numerical framework is developed to evaluate the thermal shock resistance of MgO–C refractories. By modeling interface debonding under rapid temperature changes and introducing a modified thermal shock parameter that accounts for mesocracks, the study shows how graphite content and aggregate size influence thermal shock ...

Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

Study of Axi-Symmetric Vibrations in a Micropolar Transversely Isotropic Layer
The present investigation deals with the propagation of circular crested Lamb waves in a homogeneous micropolar transversely isotropic medium. Secular equations for symmetric and skew-symmetric modes of wave propagation in completely separate terms are ...
