A Heparin‐Functionalized Scaffold with HB‐EGF Immobilization for Tissue Engineering
In this study, a heparin‐functionalized scaffold is designed for bio‐mimicking growth factors reservoir function of extracellular matrix. Due to the presence of heparin‐binding domain, heparin‐binding epidermal growth factor‐like growth factor (HB‐EGF) is effectively and spatially captured by heparin‐functionalized scaffold.

Eastern Gunwinggu fish trapping at Gunbatgarri
The eastern Gunwinggu of Central Arnhem Land construct a conical fish trap called mandjabu which is used in conjunction with a trapping fence to catch mainly barramundi and catfish. Traditionally fish trapping was an important subsistance activity during the plentiful early dry season.

Compression‐Tension‐Asymmetry and Stiffness Nonlinearity of Collagen‐Matrigel Composite Hydrogels
Self‐assembled collagen hydrogel matrices are widely used in tissue engineering applications. These matrices stiffen and contract laterally under tension due to fiber alignment and soften and collapse under compression due to fiber buckling. It is demonstrated that filler materials, such as Matrigel, linearize the mechanical behavior of collagen ...

Hauling Snow Crab Traps in Eastern Canada: A Study Documenting Tension in Ropes
Entanglement in commercial fishing gear is one of the main factors inhibiting the recovery of critically endangered North Atlantic right whales. Installing low-breaking-strength (LBS) components in the buoy lines and main lines of stationary fishing gear

Capturing self-propelled particles in a moving microwedge
Catching fish with a fishing net is typically done either by dragging a fishing net through quiescent water or by placing a stationary basket trap into a stream. We transfer these general concepts to micron-sized self-motile particles moving in a solvent

A bone substitute with gentamicin physically precipitated onto the surface of carbonate apatite exhibits prompt drug release, high bactericidal activity, and osteogenic capacity. Efficient antibacterial activity mitigates early postoperative neutrophil accumulation, the status of which may serve as a potential parameter for evaluating the antibacterial
