Trap modification and mechanoluminescence improvement by Si substitution for Sn in Sr2SnO4:Sm3+ ceramics [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Dielectrics, 2018
A series of Sr1.96Sn1−xSixO4:0.04Sm3+ (x=0, 0.1, 0.15, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4) were synthesized from solid-state reaction. The mechanoluminescence (ML) performance of Sr1.96SnO4:0.04Sm3+ was greatly enhanced by partial Si4+ substitution for Sn4+, and the sample ...

Treating TRAPS Syndrome with a Previously Undescribed TNF α Gene Receptor Mutation Successfully with Canakinumab

open access: yesПедиатрическая фармакология, 2016
The article presents an observation of one of the most common autoinflammatory syndromes — TRAPS (periodic syndrome associated with a mutation in the TNF α receptor gene).

Deep Level Transient Fourier Spectroscopy Investigation of Electron Traps on AlGaN/GaN-on-Si Power Diodes

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
Many kinds of defects are present in AlGaN/GaN-on-Si based power electronics devices. Their identification is the first step to understand and improve device performance.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Semiochemical-Based Attractant for the Ambrosia Pinhole Borer Euplatypus parallelus

open access: yesAgronomy, 2021
A semiochemical-based attractant for Euplatypus parallelus was identified and field-tested. Analyses of headspace volatile extracts of conspecific males revealed the presence of 1-hexanol along with lesser amounts of 3-methyl-1-butanol, hexyl acetate, 1 ...

Particle Dynamics in Damped Nonlinear Quadrupole Ion Traps [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We examine the motions of particles in quadrupole ion traps as a function of damping and trapping forces, including cases where nonlinear damping or nonlinearities in the electric field geometry play significant roles.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Multiple micro-optical atom traps with a spherically aberrated laser beam

open access: yes, 2004
We report on the loading of atoms contained in a magneto-optic trap into multiple optical traps formed within the focused beam of a CO_{2} laser. We show that under certain circumstances it is possible to create a linear array of dipole traps with well ...

Seasonal Abundance; Damage; and Comparison of Different Heights, Orientations, and Directions of Yellow Sticky Traps for Sampling of \u3ci\u3eLiriomyza Trifolii\u3c/i\u3e (Diptera: Agromyzidae) in Cotton [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This study was done to determine the optimum height, orientation, and direction of yellow sticky traps for sampling of Liriomyza trifolii (Burgess) (Diptera: Agromyzidae) in cotton fields.
