Traumatic Brain Injury Screening Tools in Primary Care [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Traumatic brain injuries are a significant health concern, being responsible for over 52,000 deaths each year. Unfortunately, many traumatic brain injuries often go misdiagnosed or undiagnosed. Primary care providers are the principal and first source of

Hypopituitarism following traumatic brain injury [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a worldwide public health problem and an important cause of hypopituitarism. The incidence of hypopituitarism following moderate to severe TBI varies in different studies and may occur as multiple or isolated hormonal

Cardiac Organoid Model Inspired Micro‐Robot Smart Patch to Treat Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The heart organoid model exhibits the acidic microenvironment characteristic of myocardial infarction, which emerges as a pivotal force propelling the movement of micro‐robots. These micro‐robots, administered through microneedles, can penetrate deep into the tissue, effectively delivering therapeutic payloads to facilitate heart repair.

Biomimetic Dynamics of Nanoscale Groove and Ridge Topography for Stem Cell Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Dynamic nanoscale groove‐ridge structures are engineered by flexibly conjugating RGD‐magnetic nanoparticles to nanogroove templates with variable groove widths at the molecular scale. Magnetic control enables cyclic switching between nanoscale groove and ridge states that modulates ligand accessibility of cellular integrins.
