Impact of connected and automated vehicles on the travel time reliability of an urban network
Connected and automated vehicles (CAVs) have the potential to revolutionise the transportation industry, with a plethora of research already revealing considerable gains in safety, travel time and mobility, as well as reduced congestion and pollution. As

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

The process of internalization of the Shiga toxin A subunit via formation of a complex with the Shiga toxin B subunit, which specifically binds to the Gb3 receptor. The peptide is designed to act as a carrier of drugs into cancer cells. Here, we explored the potential of peptides derived from the catalytic A subunit of Shiga toxin (STxA) to be drug ...

Estimating uncertainty and Misery (Index) of the paratransit experience
Transportation access significantly impacts inclusion, well-being, and health. However, people with disabilities often struggle to use fixed-route transit due to mobility challenges.

Data analytics approach for travel time reliability pattern analysis and prediction
Travel time reliability (TTR) is an important measure which has been widely used to represent the traffic conditions on freeways. The objective of this study is to develop a systematic approach to analyzing TTR on roadway segments along a corridor.

A 4-month-old male infant presented acutely unwell with fever. He was initially treated for sepsis but failed to improve with IV broad spectrum antibiotics. Haemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) was diagnosed due to his fever, pancytopenia, splenomegaly, hypertriglyceridaemia, hypofibrinogenaemia and significant hyperferritinaemia.

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

Disparities in ridehailing travel times for accessing non-work destinations
We contribute to the literature on new mobilities by measuring spatial disparities in travel times for accessing essential non-work destinations via ridehailing. We focused on healthcare, restaurants, and grocery destinations in Chicago.

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
