Nanothermometry in Living Cells: Physical Limits, Conceptual and Material Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Heat and temperature are fundamental to life. When nanothermometers began probing regions as small as a living cell, they triggered controversial claims of large intracellular temperature gradients. We review physical constraints energy‐conservation, entropy production, thermodynamic fluctuations, and molecular dynamics.

The generalized Kudryashov method to obtain exact traveling wave solutions of the PHI-four equation and the Fisher equation

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2017
In recent years, searching exact traveling wave solutions to nonlinear evolution equations (NLEEs) has become a remarkable topic of research. In this article, we obtain exact traveling wave solutions of two significant NLEEs, namely, the PHI-four ...

Multi-Bunch Solutions of Differential-Difference Equation for Traffic Flow

open access: yes, 1999
Newell-Whitham type car-following model with hyperbolic tangent optimal velocity function in a one-lane circuit has a finite set of the exact solutions for steady traveling wave, which expressed by elliptic theta function.

Light‐Actuated Fiber‐Climbing Inchworm Robot Toward Endoluminal Navigation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A kirigami‐inspired soft inchworm robot harnesses optical energy from a customized side‐emitting optical fiber, guaranteeing its propulsion along the fiber body. The wavelength‐selective responsiveness of dye‐functionalized liquid crystal elastomers and the application of temporal illumination patterns enable sequential control of robot components. The

Single peaked traveling wave solutions to a generalized μ-Novikov Equation

open access: yesAdvances in Nonlinear Analysis, 2020
In this paper, we study the existence of peaked traveling wave solution of the generalized μ-Novikov equation with nonlocal cubic and quadratic nonlinearities.

On the localized wave patterns supported by convection-reaction-diffusion equation

open access: yes, 2009
A set of traveling wave solution to convection-reaction-diffusion equation is studied by means of methods of local nonlinear analysis and numerical simulation.

Smart Face Masks as Wearable Respiratory Sensors: A Review of Sensor Technologies, Materials, and Future Directions

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights recent advances in smart face masks that actively monitor breathing. By integrating humidity, gas, temperature, pressure, strain, and triboelectric sensors, these masks track key respiratory parameters in real time. The article summarizes sensor mechanisms, compares performance across studies, and discusses challenges and future ...

Drift perturbation’s influence on traveling wave speed in KPP-Fisher system

open access: yesAnalele Stiintifice ale Universitatii Ovidius Constanta: Seria Matematica, 2016
This paper dressed the drift perturbation effects on the traveling wave speed in a reaction-diffusion system. We prove the existence of a traveling front solution of a KPP-Fisher equation and we show an asymptotic expansion of her speed.

Traveling waves for a bistable equation with nonlocal-diffusion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We consider a single component reaction-diffusion equation in one dimension with bistable nonlinearity and a nonlocal space-fractional diffusion operator of Riesz-Feller type.

Oscillatory traveling wave solutions for coagulation equations

open access: yesQuarterly of Applied Mathematics, 2017
We consider Smoluchowski's coagulation equation with kernels of homogeneity one of the form $K_{\varepsilon }(ξ,η) =\big( ξ^{1-\varepsilon }+η^{1-\varepsilon }\big)\big ( ξη\big) ^{\frac{\varepsilon }{2}}$. Heuristically, in suitable exponential variables, one can argue that in this case the long-time behaviour of solutions is similar to the inviscid ...
