Bifurcation and Traveling Wave Solutions for the Fokas Equation

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2015
This paper is devoted to discussing bifurcation and traveling wave solutions for the Fokas equation. By investigating the dynamical behavior with phase space analysis, we may derive all possible exact traveling wave solutions, including compactons, cuspons, periodic cusp wave solutions, and smooth solitary wave solutions.

Periodic travelling-wave solution of brusselator

Acta Mathematicae Applicatae Sinica, 1988
The author firstly gives the conditions such that a quartic algebraic equation has a pair of complex conjugate roots and a pair real roots, and all of the roots have strictly negative real part (Lemma 1-3). With that, he gives the conditions of coefficients of the characteristic equation which enables us to know the existence of the Hopf bifurcation ...

Traveling Wave Solutions for a Combustion Problem

Studies in Applied Mathematics, 1989
A simple model for combustion consisting of two parabolic equations is considered. It is shown that plane wave solutions exist. Certain invariant integrals are obtained, from which a nonexistence criterion is derived. The effect of the wave speed on the shape of the wave is deduced.

Traveling Wave Solutions

1996
This chapter deals with the existence of wave solutions in a system where spatial diffusion and temporal delay play a crucial role in determining the system’s spatio-temporal patterns and dynamics.

Traveling Wave Solutions

2001
In this chapter we study model problems that lead to an important, special class of solutions called traveling wave solutions. Examining the behavior of these solutions can give insights into the role of competing mechanisms in a given problem, for example, reaction versus dispersion or advection versus dispersion.

Travelling Wave Solutions for sine-Gordon Prototypes

International Journal of Nonlinear Sciences and Numerical Simulation, 2001
Summary: By using finite difference discretization for the sine-Gordon equation, we obtain the sine-Gordon prototypes. For these prototypes, the existence of discrete periodic travelling wave solutions and discrete solitons are proved by the anti-integrable limit method.

Explicit travelling-wave solutions

2004
A number of explicit nontrivial monotonic travelling-wave solutions of the nonlinear reaction-convection-diffusion equation (1.1) have been discovered by various authors. It is not the intention here to provide a survey of all these. However, a few remarks on the possibilities offered by the now apparent correspondence between travelling-wave solutions
