Periodic travelling wave solutions of nonlinear wave equations
Nonlinear Analysis: Theory, Methods & Applications, 1999Periodic traveling wave solutions to the nonlinear wave equation with periodic boundary condition are considered. A result of Bourgain for the semilinear cubic wave equation is extended.

On traveling wave solutions: The Wu–Zhang system describing dispersive long waves
Modern physics letters B, 2019In this paper, we construct exact families of traveling wave (periodic wave, solitary wave, shock wave, singular-wave, singular-periodic wave, and singular-solitary wave) solutions of a well-known system of nonlinear PDEs, the Wu–Zhang system, which ...

In this chapter we study model problems that lead to an important, special class of solutions called traveling wave solutions. Examining the behavior of these solutions can give insights into the role of competing mechanisms in a given problem, for example, reaction versus dispersion or advection versus dispersion.

New type of travelling wave solutions
Mathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, 2003AbstractWe study the existence of combustion waves for an autocatalytic reaction in the non‐adiabatic case. Based on the fact that the reaction system has canard solutions separating the slow combustion regime from the explosive one, we prove by applying the geometric theory of singularly perturbed differential equations the existence of a new type of ...

Traveling Wave Solutions for a Combustion Problem
Studies in Applied Mathematics, 1989A simple model for combustion consisting of two parabolic equations is considered. It is shown that plane wave solutions exist. Certain invariant integrals are obtained, from which a nonexistence criterion is derived. The effect of the wave speed on the shape of the wave is deduced.
