Self‐Assembled Inorganic Nanomembrane Tubes: Rolled‐Up Piezoelectrics for Microacoustic Wave‐Based Actuators and Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates a self‐assembly process to generate free‐standing piezoelectric nanomembranes, forming ultracompact microtubular acoustic wave sensors and actuators. The miniaturized 3D piezoelectric platform reported in this work can be applied in telecommunication, energy harvesting, and acoustofluidics. Moreover, the 3D self‐assembly can add

Multi-solitary waves for the one-dimensional Zakharov system

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Mathématique
Given different speeds $c_1,\dots , c_K$, in the present paper we establish the existence of a solution to the Zakharov system in dimension $1$ that behaves asymptotically like a $K$-solitary wave, each wave travelling with speed $c_k$.

Flexible Dielectric Acoustic Resonator Patch for Tissue Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A flexible dielectric acoustic resonator patch enables MHz‐range ultrasound generation through resonance amplification without using piezoelectric materials. Conformal integration on a curved substrate allows efficient acoustic delivery to tissue‐mimicking environments.

Splitting in the Excitation Spectrum of A Bose-Einstein Condensate Undergoing Strong Rabi Oscillations

open access: yes, 2005
We report on a measurement of splitting in the excitation spectrum of a condensate driven by an optical travelling wave. Experimental results are compared to a numerical solution of the Gross Pitaevskii equation, and analyzed by a simple two level model ...

Universal Conductance Fluctuations in Quantum Anomalous Hall Insulators

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Universal conductance fluctuations are observed in mesoscopic quantum anomalous Hall insulators. Two distinct fluctuation patterns are identified, arising from different interference processes of bulk and chiral edge states, respectively. These findings unveil rich quantum interference phenomena in quantum anomalous Hall insulators and provide insights

Imaging Noise Suppression: Fourth-Order Partial Differential Equations and Travelling Wave Solutions

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
In this paper, we discuss travelling wave solutions for image smoothing based on a fourth-order partial differential equation. One of the recurring issues of digital imaging is the amount of noise.

Travelling wave phenomena in non-linear diffusion degenerate Nagumo equations

open access: yes, 1997
. In this paper we study the existence of one-dimensional travelling wave solutions u(x, t)=φ(x−ct) for the non-linear degenerate (at u=0) reaction-diffusion equation ut=[D(u)ux]x+g(u) where g is a generalisation of the Nagumo equation arising in nerve ...

Ligand‐Mediated Surface Carrier Modulation in Perovskite Nanocrystals for Charge‐Symmetric LEDs

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A hydrolysis‐assisted ligand exchange strategy enables surface carrier modulation of perovskite nanocrystals using a multifunctional π‐conjugated ligand. This molecular surface design achieves charge balance and recombination‐zone symmetry in light‐emitting diodes (LEDs), which leads to high‐efficiency perovskite LEDs and establishes a general platform

A non-local approach to waves of maximal height for the Degasperis-Procesi equation

open access: yes, 2018
We consider the non-local formulation of the Degasperis-Procesi equation $u_t+uu_x+L(\frac{3}{2}u^2)_x=0$, where $L$ is the non-local Fourier multiplier operator with symbol $m(\xi)=(1+\xi^2)^{-1}$.

Study of lower hybrid wave propagation in ionized gas by Hamiltonian theory

open access: yes, 2013
In order to find an approximate solution to the Vlasov-Maxwell equation system describing the lower hybrid wave propagation in magnetic confined plasmas, the use of the WKB method leads to the ray tracing equations.
