Improving benthic monitoring by combining trawl and grab surveys
Marine Pollution Bulletin, 2011Environmental monitoring is performed on seafloor communities since these organisms are relatively stationary and integrate the environmental conditions over many years. Standard practices involve sampling by grab. Epifaunal taxa, often missed by grab sampling, are likely to have different ecological functions.

Manual for the Baltic International Trawl Surveys
2023The report ofthe Workshop on standard trawls for Baltic international fish surveys (ICES C.M. 1997/J:6) were evaluated by the Working Group. The Workshop report stressed two restrictions related to the bouom topography of the Baltic Sea which were considered ofmajor importance for the selection ofrcsearch trawls for the area.
