Pitfalls in diagnosing and long‐term management of ceroid lipofuscinosis NCL4A in a mixed‐breed dog

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 4, November 2026.
Abstract An 8‐year‐old, spayed, female, mixed‐breed dog was presented with a 9‐month history of occasionally stumbling on walks, having difficulty navigating stairs and jumping into the car. A prior computed tomography scan of the head revealed mild leptomeningeal enhancement and suggested meningoencephalitis.

Exoskeleton‐assisted physiotherapy in school and outpatient contexts for minimally ambulant children with cerebral palsy

open access: yesDevelopmental Medicine &Child Neurology, Volume 68, Issue 11, Page 1580-1592, November 2026.
Abstract Aim To assess the clinical feasibility of lower‐limb pediatric exoskeleton‐assisted (Trexo Plus) physiotherapy for minimally ambulatory children at an outpatient center and a primary school. Secondary aims were to assess associated functional and goal‐based outcomes before and after Trexo‐based physiotherapy.

How Do Mindfulness‐Based and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies Help Adults With Opioid‐Treated Chronic Low Back Pain? A Qualitative Study

open access: yesPain Practice, Volume 26, Issue 8, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic low back pain (CLBP) is common and often refractory to existing treatments, necessitating long‐term opioid therapy, which has substantial risks. Mindfulness‐based (MBT) and cognitive behavioral (CBT) therapies are safe and can be effective for CLBP.

The Biomechanical Signature of Elite Distance Running: A Matched Pairs Analysis Across Multiple Speeds

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Medicine &Science in Sports, Volume 36, Issue 11, November 2026.
ABSTRACT This study compared the biomechanical profiles of elite and recreational distance runners across five measurement domains using wearable inertial sensors across treadmill speeds of 10–15 km/h. A total of 104 runners (52 elite; 52 recreational) were assessed using RunScribe sensors during an incremental treadmill protocol.

A Single Exercise Session Elicits a Transient Kynurenine Metabolic Signature in Health and Disease: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 20, 31 October 2026.
A single exercise session transiently modulates systemic kynurenine pathway metabolism. Immediately after exercise, tryptophan decreases while kynurenine, KYN/TRP, kynurenic acid, and quinolinic acid increase. During recovery, lower tryptophan, higher KYN/TRP, and kynurenic acid remain.
