Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Fiber in the Treatment of Dyslipidemia in Pediatric Patients

open access: yesChildren
Dietary fiber is present in many food categories (fruits, cereals, vegetables, legumes), and is considered a beneficial component of adult and children’s diets. It is now well-established that dietary intervention is the first line of treatment for childhood dyslipidemia, both as a curative intervention (Familial Hyperchylomicronemia Syndrome ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Effect of Fiber Content and Silane Treatment on the Mechanical Properties of Recycled Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene Fiber Composites

open access: yesChemistry, 2021
The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of fiber content and then silane treatment on the mechanical performance of the natural fiber composites of recycled acrylonitrile–butadiene–styrene (ABS) provided by the automotive sector. Wood

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Extraction and Characterization of Fibers from Water Hyacinth Stem Using a Custom-Made Decorticator

open access: yesJournal of Natural Fibers, 2023
In the reported work, the fibers were extracted from water hyacinth plant using a custom-made fiber decorticating machine. The extracted fibers were subjected to aerobic and anaerobic retting, followed by alkali treatment. The fiber yield and the physico-

Investigation on fiber coating and treatment on mechanical properties of fiber composites

open access: yesInternational journal of health sciences, 2022
The purpose of this project is to investigate on mechanical properties of fibre coated reinforced composites. Tensile properties of the coated flax fabrics tested at different resin treatment. The tensile test is to evaluate the effect of the epoxy coating on the strength of the flax fiber and to predict the behavior of the coating how influence the ...

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Second Near‐Infrared Activatable Nitric Oxide Releasing Nanoactuators for Photothermal Combinational Modulation of Epileptogenic Focus

open access: yesSmall Structures
Laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT), which ablates diseased brain tissues via hyperthermia, has offered novel treatment approach for epilepsy; however, the current LITT protocols still lack ablation selectivity and disease‐modifying efficacy.

ALKALI TREATMENT OF POLYESTER FIBERS

open access: yesSen'i Gakkaishi, 1960
Fibers, made from polyesters of β-hydroxyethoxy aromatic acids, and their copolyester, and those from polyethylen terephthalate (PET), were treated with aqueous caustic soda solutions.Rate constants of solution, k (g/hr/cm2), are calculated from the equationwhere x is the loss of weight by solution, d0 (cm) the initial diameter of a fiber, t (hr) the ...
