Species‐specific quantitative PCR (qPCR) with ITS2 metabarcoding was combined to investigate the occurrence of D. septosporum and associated needle mycobiomes of Pinus sylvestris in natural and non‐natural stands in Slovakia. Fungal community analyzes revealed significant differences in community composition among stands, while alpha diversity patterns

Tree-Ring Skeleton Plotting by Computer
Skeleton plotting is an established manual technique for representing the relative narrowness of tree rings in a single radius. These plots can be used as a visual aid to crossdating.

The External Exposome and Food Allergy: How Environmental Exposures Shape Disease Risk
ABSTRACT IgE‐mediated food allergy is a global health issue with rising prevalence that cannot be explained by genetic change alone, strongly suggesting that environmental exposures are a key driver. The external exposome encompasses several exposures that influence the developing immune system and modify food allergy risk.

Abstract Beyond physical challenges, cancer can cause psychological and cognitive challenges for patients, caregivers, and family members. Digital health interventions show promise in addressing these issues. However, evidence on their applicability in daily cancer care is limited. The objective of this systematic review is to evaluate the internal and

Living on the Edge: Ecological and Evolutionary Dynamics Along Invasion Fronts
Invasion fronts are non‐equilibrium edges where density declines and trait differentiation increases from the core, through a transition zone, to a low‐density, high‐dispersal front. Introductions generate multiple foci and satellite colonies, shaped by environmental filtering, spatial sorting, founder effects, gene flow and expansion load.

Using > 45,000 waterbird censuses at 2792 European sites, we found functional diversity has increased over time and in warmer winters, but functional redundancy has declined. Ramsar and Special Protection Area sites had the greatest increase in functional richness but the greatest decline in functional redundancy in warmer winters, especially further ...

ABSTRACT Forecasting extinction risk from genomic data is challenging because of interactions among environment, demography, and genomic erosion. Here, we use known outcomes from forward simulations as a proof‐of‐concept study to test whether machine‐learning (ML) models can discriminate relative extinction risk and recovery potential from genomic ...

ABSTRACT Aim The introduction of non‐native species to native ecological communities by humans is a major driver of global biodiversity change. Studying how species introductions influence interacting species is essential to understanding possible functional consequences of global change because biotic interactions are ecologically crucial.
