Models for individual tree mortality in Norway
Forest Ecology and Management, 2001Logistic models predicting probability of survival for individual trees were developed, respectively, for Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.), Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.), birch (Betula spp.), and for other broadleaved trees. The models were based on data from one remeasurement of a nation-wide grid of permanent sample plots recorded by the ...

Pervasive increase in tree mortality across the Australian continent
Nature PlantsWidespread climate-driven increases in background tree mortality rates have the potential to reduce the carbon storage of terrestrial ecosystems, challenging their effectiveness as natural buffers against atmospheric CO2 enrichment with major consequences for the global carbon budget.

Shade Tree Mortality Study Techniques
Arboriculture & Urban Forestry, 1979Infrared overflight film was provided by the Texas Forest Service in September 1976 to aid in post oak mortality studies in the city of College Station, Texas.
