Models for individual tree mortality in Norway

Forest Ecology and Management, 2001
Logistic models predicting probability of survival for individual trees were developed, respectively, for Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.), Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.), birch (Betula spp.), and for other broadleaved trees. The models were based on data from one remeasurement of a nation-wide grid of permanent sample plots recorded by the ...

Pervasive increase in tree mortality across the Australian continent

Nature Plants
Widespread climate-driven increases in background tree mortality rates have the potential to reduce the carbon storage of terrestrial ecosystems, challenging their effectiveness as natural buffers against atmospheric CO2 enrichment with major consequences for the global carbon budget.
