The impact of drying time and storage room on the viability of trema (Trema orientalis Linn. Blume) seed

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, 2022
Abstract During drying and storage, trema seeds undergo a process of seed deterioration. Seed deterioration is a decrease in the quality of seed viability which can cause overall changes in the seed, both physiologically and chemically.

Microstructural Controls on Geothermal Reservoir Host Rock Responses to Elevated Pressures and Temperatures

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 131, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Rock microstructure controls geothermal fluid flow within reservoirs hosted in active volcanic environments and as such it is necessary to constrain the microstructural evolution of rocks at elevated pressure and temperature conditions. Despite Andean geothermal systems hosting numerous high enthalpy geothermal plays, there remains a paucity ...

Insects and non‐woody plants slow down tropical forest succession: A community‐wide experiment in Papua New Guinea

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 114, Issue 4, April 2026.
The importance of top‐down insect herbivory decreased, while the importance of bottom‐up plant competition with non‐woody plant species increased with elevation, representing a gradient of increasing environmental stress in the succession of woody plants.

Resurrected Ancestral Cannabis Enzymes Unveil the Origin and Functional Evolution of Cannabinoid Synthases

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 4, Page 2685-2697, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Cannabinoids, such as tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA), cannabidiolic acid (CBDA) and cannabichromenic acid (CBCA), are bioactive and medicinally relevant compounds found in the cannabis plant (Cannabis sativa L.). These three compounds are synthesised from a single precursor, cannabigerolic acid (CBGA), through regioselective reactions ...

Obstructive sleep apnea severity, Alzheimer's disease plasma markers, and CSF brain amyloidosis and tau pathology

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract INTRODUCTION We examined obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) severity's association with Alzheimer's disease (AD) plasma biomarkers, independent or synergistic with cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) amyloid, and as a proof of concept, whether plasma amyloid beta (Aβ)42/Aβ40 with OSA severity improves detection of amyloidosis and tau pathology.

The Southernmost Known Population of the Monito Del Monte, Dromiciops gliroides

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 3, March 2026.
A range extension for a relict south American marsupial. ABSTRACT The monito del monte (genus Dromiciops) is a small arboreal marsupial endemic to the temperate rainforests of southern South America, and the sole extant representative of the order Microbiotheria. Systématique du genre Trema en Afrique occidentale.

open access: yes, 1999
Many species and varieties of the genus Trema have been previously identified in Africa but the wide morphological variation apparently independent of environmental factors has resulted in today's recognition of only one species on the continent, Trema ...
