Abstract The lowest Ordovician (Tremadocian) chitinozoan biostratigraphy of the South China Palaeoplate has been reviewed and updated, based on new investigation from the Upper Yangtze area. The systematic paleontology of Lagenochitina pestovoensis Obut 1973 and Lagenochitina destombesi Elaouad-Debbaj 1988, has been revised.

The Brattefors plugs: Collapse structures initiated during a Tremadocian regression

Abstract At Brattefors on the southern slope of Kinnekulle, Vastergotland, Sweden, Upper Cambrian bituminous shale is cut by plugs consisting of a thick, relatively undisturbed succession of Tremadocian Ceratopyge Shale otherwise not represented in the vicinity. Drillcores show the plugs to reach down into Lower Cambrian sandstone.

TREMADOCIAN STYLOPHORAN ECHINODERMS FROM THE TAEBAEKSAN BASIN, KOREA

Abundant isolated elements of cornute and mitrate stylophorans were recovered from the upper Tremadocian Tumugol Formation in the Taebaeksan Basin, Korea. Cornute skeletal elements comprise a diverse assemblage of marginals and brachials of cothurnocystid affinities, suggesting the presence of no fewer than four different species.

Based on a study of latest Tremadocian graptolites from Gulin of southern Sichuan and a re-examination of Tremadocian graptolite specimens previously collected from many other localities in South China, a new scheme of Tremadocian graptolite biozonation is proposed for the South China palaeoplate, to include seven zones.

Tremadocian (Ordovician) graptolite diversification events in China

Study of the taxonomy, evolution and distribution of Tremadoc graptolites and their sequences in China and other representative sections around the world indicates that five graptolite diversity events can be recognised during the Tremadoc interval. The taxonomic validity of the suborder Graptodendroidina is advocated.

Revision of the March Formation (Tremadocian) in Southeastern Ontario

Reference sections are proposed for the revised March Formation (Tremadocian) along the MacDonald–Cartier Freeway a few miles west of Brockville, Ontario. The sequence of the March Formation delineated by these sections yields nearly a complete stratigraphic succession for this formation in southeastern Ontario.

Tremadocian acritarchs from northwestern Argentina

Abstract A Tremadocian acritarch assemblage is described from the Santa Rosita Formation, Cordillera Oriental, Salta Province, northwestern Argentina. The microplankton corresponds to trilobite-bearing strata assigned to the lower to upper Tremadocian from the middle part of the Santa Rosita Formation.

An Early Ordovician (late Tremadocian) bivalve fauna from Iran

A small bivalve fauna is described from the late Tremadocian of Iran, adding to the very few localities in the world where bivalves of this age are known. In addition to indeterminate praenuculids, the fauna includes the praenuculid Pensarnia and the pteriomorphian genus Glyptarca.
