Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Multiple interaction nodes define the postreplication repair response to UV‐induced DNA damage that is defective in melanomas and correlated with UV signature mutation load

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, 2020
Ultraviolet radiation‐induced DNA mutations are a primary environmental driver of melanoma. The reason for this very high level of unrepaired DNA lesions leading to these mutations is still poorly understood.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Tri priče

open access: yes[sic]
Kad su dva mladunca lava i tri čegrtuše proglašene nestalima, istražitelji su otkrili da je ravnatelj zoološkog vrta Charles Hunt (58) ujedno trgovao kožama divljih životinja.

Characterization of Polypropylene Green Composites Reinforced by Cellulose Fibers Extracted from Rice Straw

open access: yesInternational Journal of Polymer Science, 2018
Polypropylene (PP) based green composites containing 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 wt% of cellulose fibers (CFs) which were extracted from rice straw were successfully prepared by melt blend method. The CFs washed with H2O2 after alkaline extraction showed lower

Clinical outcome and pathologic correlation of stereotactic body radiation therapy as a bridge to transplantation for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma: a case series

open access: yesRadiation Oncology, 2021
Background Stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) is an emerging modality for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, there is scant information about its safety and effectiveness in the neoadjuvant setting prior to liver transplantation (LT). We present

Considerations and complications with "first principles" dynamic modelling of industrial compressors

open access: yesАвіаційно-космічна техніка та технологія, 2021
Readily available processing hardware and "off-the-shelf" (OTS) simulation software has made "high fidelity" first principles models of both steady and transient states, for both axial and centrifugal industrial compressors, relatively easy to construct.
