Hyperosmotic stress‐induced redistribution of pre‐mRNA cleavage factor I subunits is associated with shifts in alternative polyadenylation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Hyperosmotic stress triggers the relocation of the CFIm complex from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. This shift creates a nuclear ‘stoichiometric bottleneck’, limiting CFIm availability for mRNA processing. Consequently, specific mRNAs like NUDT21 and DICER1 undergo targeted 3′UTR shortening, demonstrating how spatial protein dynamics drive rapid ...

Triangles Classes

open access: yes, 2011
Notions of different types of trianglesThe animation presents a triangle on a grid area or composed by smaller triangles. Positioning the cursor over one of the vertices of the triangle, it is possible to drag the vertice of the geometric shape in order ...

Making triangles colorful

open access: yesJournal of Computational Geometry, 2013
We prove that for any point set P in the plane, a triangle T, and a positive integer k, there exists a coloring of P with k colors such that any homothetic copy of T containing at least 144k8 points of P contains at least one of each color.

Directed closure coefficient and its patterns.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2021
The triangle structure, being a fundamental and significant element, underlies many theories and techniques in studying complex networks. The formation of triangles is typically measured by the clustering coefficient, in which the focal node is the ...

Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.

The triangle and the open triangle

open access: yesAnnales de l'Institut Henri Poincaré, Probabilités et Statistiques, 2011
We show that for percolation on any transitive graph, the triangle condition implies the open triangle condition.

Maximum Number of Almost Similar Triangles in the Plane

open access: yes, 2021
A triangle T′ is ε-similar to another triangle T if their angles pairwise differ by at most ε. Given a triangle T, ε>0 and n∈N, Bárány and Füredi asked to determine the maximum number of triangles h(n,T,ε) being ε-similar to T in a planar point set of ...

SPG4 and Dementia: Expanding the Clinical Spectrum

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP) is a group of disorders characterized by progressive spasticity and lower limb weakness, with mutations in SPG4/SPAST being the most common cause. Detailed studies and clinical and molecular comparisons across different populations are missing.

The Occurrence and Risk Factors of Black Triangles Between Central Incisors After Orthodontic Treatment

open access: yesDiagnostics
Background/Objectives: To assess the incidence of and risk factors for black triangles between the central incisors after orthodontic treatment; Methods: Ninety-seven post-treatment patients (29 men and 68 women; mean age, 22.7 years) were ...

Aesthetic Judgment of Triangular Shape: Compactness and Not the Golden Ratio Determines Perceived Attractiveness

open access: yesi-Perception, 2012
Many studies over a period of more than a century have investigated the influence of the golden ratio on perceived geometric beauty. Surprisingly, very few of these studies used triangular shapes.
